Re: meds and heat tolerance

Hi Kellie, every BP med I've ever taken (including spiro) has made me intolerant

to heat (and really sweaty, too!).

That's probably the only thing I'm going to miss about PA, once my treatment

plan is decided. With untreated PA, I'm always running cold and I rarely, if

ever, perspire.

28.5/renin 0.2, potassium <2.9 (when not taking supplements); 25mg spiro caused

gynecomastia; no HTN meds; current meds are 20MEQ K 3x/day, singulair 10mg,

norethindrone .35mg, cyclobenzaprine 5-10mg when needed, fexofenadine 180mg when

needed; low sodium, fructose- and grain-free diet

That sounds so familiar as right before my first episode I froze all the time.

Now I'm freezing my husband out of the house cause I'm trying to stay cool. :-)

AMEN to no heat and thank goodness for air conditioning ! When i had

hyperthyroidism one of the hallmarks was feeling like your ALWAYS on fire. It is

really like your in hell AND the mother in law is there too.

Yep our A/C has been on for a month now. My parents can't believe

it. At work I manage ok by wearing summer outfits but with all the

doctor appointments let me tell you I sweat to death in there.  I

take a bottle of water so after they weight me I pretty much chug

the whole thing to make it through!
