Guest guest
You should be checking your BP at home, every day, and keeping a record. I don't know why your GFR is up and down but your creatinine seems to be getting a bit better. Keep a watch on your calcium. I ran near the top of the range for years until my hyperparathyroidism reached a critical state and I got surgery to remove the parathyroid with an adenoma. By then, I'd developed a heart murmur from the HTN. The HTN totally resolved after the surgery. I had been on three drugs. Guest guest
Licia, my parathyroid-induced HTN resolved with surgery. However, a few years later, gradually, the HTN crept up as my Lyme disease became more severe. When my urine sodium was too low to measure, I used to still run a BP of 155/90. Now, on Lyme treatment and less than 1/4 the spiro, my BP is averaging 127/68. I don't eat much sodium but am not strict like I used to be. I stopped one antibiotic that (I think) addresses the Lyme co-infection, Bartonella. Within a week, my BP was running in the 140's. Back on it, my BP is going back down. I check it every day and do a 7-day moving average on a spreadsheet. You still need to put your creatinine and GFR in a spreadsheet form. I think we're all getting confused about whether your creatinine or GFR are up or down. What surgery were you told about? Guest guest
Thanks. It looks like my sodium is down. How did u do the spread sheet, from a excel app? Or just chart it as far as u can go back to present with dates? well my gen dr, told me that my GFR is stable not really thinking I will need dialysis anytime soon. I have an appt 2moro afternoon. I will ask what that fluctuation is all about with the GFR. Seem the when I was on diovan and bistolic the GFR was getting stronger. Just so frustrating. How are your numbers? Guest guest
High blood pressure and horrific bone pain. Weakness. Testing for hyperparathyroidism is like testing for PA. You need parathyroid hormone + calcium. Endos have a chart where they graph the two values. If the convergence falls into a certain area, hyperparathyroidism is suspected. I also had a sestimibi scan which showed the adenoma. Val From: hyperaldosteronism [mailto:hyperaldosteronism ] On Behalf Of Glenda Val, With high calcium & parathyroid problems, what symptoms did you have? I ask because I have been running high calcium for years. Glenda > > You should be checking your BP at home, every day, and keeping a record.
