*wink*) and visiting in Belgium (not sure of the town just yet...) ... anyone?

Ein......No Pics.....?

I'm disappointed....<G>....!

One thing....They have very unique and decorative coinage.....Some is of

contrasting metals...The artwork is fascinating...

Bring some back, drill a hole and add a ring and hang on a cord or fine

chain to make a pendant....

Good Trip to You......

PS: anyone want to go steal the blossoms from 's work parking lot? *giggle*

I already have! I picked two blooms and brought them home and put them on my

beside table. The room was scented for two days and nights!  I'll be visiting

those trees quite often ! :D

Oh, by the way, we also have planters full of rosemary too. Every night when I'm

leaving work I brush the plants with my hands, inhale the fumes from my palms

and spread the scent all over my beard, face, and hair.  It not only is

wonderful, it stays for quite a while.  It also freshens me up and keeps me

from smelling like kitchen stink.

Hi ein Sof,

What do you mean exactly by " organic alcohol. " What kind of organic alcohol

do you use for your perfumes now?

I have passed on your question about the Dutch aromatic treasures to a Dutch

aromatherapy newsgroup. I'll let you know the outcome asap!

During which months will you stay in Holland?

Kind regards,

Brigitta

gezellig! thank you SO MUCH Brigitta! by organic alcohol i mean mixed grain or

preferably grape alcohol... although, i suppose any perfumer's alcohol would

suffice... i just prefer organic  for obvious reasons.

i am hoping to be in A'Dam in April, May, June and the first week of July

(although i will be traveling that week to the Canary Islands and France.) i am

busy learning about Hagsleg, gezelligheit, and the color orange. *grin*

thank you for your help!! much light, einsof

Hi!

Here are already a few tips:

- You could visit “De Distilleerderij” in Middenmeer (70 km from

Amsterdam) where the following essential oils are distilled:

wortel olie ( Archangelica)

Asafoetida gom olie (Ferula assa-foetida) z.g. duivelsdrek

Dille zaad olie (Anethum garvoelens)

Karwij zaad olie (Carum carvi) z.g. kummel

Komijn zaad olie (Cuminum cyminum)

selie zaad olie (Petroselinum sativum)

Selderij zaad olie (Apium graveolens)

Wortel zaad olie (Daucus carota) z.g. peen

d-carvone, ex. karwij olie

Ook distilleren wij in kleinere hoeveelheden de volgende natuurlijke

etherische oliën, o.a.

zaad olie ( archangelica) z.g. Engelwortel

Basilicum kruid olie (Ocimum basilicum)

Koriander zaad olie (Coriandrum sativum)

Levisticum wortel olie (Levisticum officinale) z.g. Maggie of Lavas

Levisticum zaad olie (Levisticum officinale) z.g. Maggie of Lavas

Oreganom kruid olie (Origanum vulgare)

Osyris olie (Osyris tenuifolia) z.g. Afrikaans Sandalhout olie

Rozemarijn olie (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Tijm kruid olie (Thymus vulgaris)

Bonenkruid olie (Satureja hortensis)

etc.

- You could visit the beautiful Weleda herb garden in Zoetermeer

(best month for a visit is May)

- A visit to the perfume bottle museum in Winkel (near to Alkmaar)

- And if you like the aromatic fragrance of Dutch cheese… you could

visit the cheese market in Alkmaar or Edam

By the way, what on earth means “Hagsleg?”

Kind regards,

Brigitta

hello brigitta,

> By the way, what on earth means “Hagsleg?”

hagelslag! :)

for the rest of the group: these are chocolate sprinkles, dutch people

eat them on a slice of buttered white bread, not toast. they also work

well of beschuit (this word surely must sound very strange to

foreigners) with is the traditional base for muisjes, which is eaten

when a child is born. :)

to einsof: get chocolade hagelslag. otherwise it's not real chocolate,

but a cheap substitute.

best,

guido.
