Guest guest
I joined a while ago and have been lurking and reading all your interesting posts! I started out buying essential oils for making herbal salves and such, and then began buying a few here and there just for the good smells, to the point where I have quite the collection. I've played a little with blending scents, haven't been too successful there. yet. I was thinking recently that I'd like to have a summery perfume for myself this year and was reading up online about light, fresh perfumes. I happened on a vintage eau de cologne from Guerlain and the notes sounded like they'd make a wonderful linen spray for sheets and pillowcase on a hot, muggy summer night. So I added this and that and some of the other thing and the result smells so wonderful that I want to use it as perfume and not just to spray my sheets. I know that citrus oils can be irritating and I think photosensitizing too? The bergamot I used in this says Bergamot FCF, which I believe means that the photosensitizing part has been removed, is that right? The blend does have a few drops of Lemon Myrtle which smells more lemony than lemons and I bet can be very irritating. I'm wondering what might be a safe amount to use in a 1 oz spray bottle. 10 drops? 20? Also, how much 151 Everclear would I need to use in 1 oz? I have some left from starting batches of herbal tinctures recently. Thank you!
