Oi! Tudo bom?

Many years ago I spent a few months in Fernadopolis, near San de Rio Preto.

So, if you are interested would love to have an english/portuguese conversation

sometime :P as I've all but forgotten it.

Hmm... not sure about essential oils themselves, but when I lived there the

doctor actually prescribed me a passion-flower melissa aromatherapy blend (which

I thought was SO cool at the time). So someone in a medical field or pharmacy

might have a good source. I was in a small town though, so it would have been

hard to find elsewhere.

If all else fails, there are a lot of great internet sources :P Medium box

flatrate shipping from the states is $27, which isn't too much more than I am

paying for UPS to get some essential oils and bottles living here :)

Hello and welcome to all the newcomers :)

I also started from scratch, as a hobby when i signed up 3 plus years ago to the

group. my, how much I've lerned... and am still lerning. this really is the best

place to try and share.

Rodrigo, when purchasing oils, you want to be really sure the company you are

buying from sells 100% natural, unadulterated oils. and, sorry to say, people

lie. so even if they say 100% natural, doesn't mean it is.

one thing you can do is when you find a source you think is good, before you

make a purchase search the archive if they've been mentioned here before, for

good or bad,

and, you can post and ask if anyone has heard of them and whether they would

recommend them or not.

that can save you some money and heartache.

good luck

Hemla

oh, and in the links section there are links to many good, trustworthy suppliers

and also in the guild, any suppliers recommended there are trustworthy as well,

i don't know if any of them are located in Brazil though, i ship most of my oils

from the US (really, if i know of anyone flying in, i ship it to there house and

have them bring it in there suitcase, it saves a huge tax that i would otherwise

have to pay.) so know that's an option as well.

contact me privately if you would like more info on how to get around the tax

involved in shipping from overseas.

Hi ,

can you please also send it to me? I'm doing a doctorate in Australia and would

love to know a cheaper option for printing as well. I also have a couple of

manuscripts that I would like to print, so that would be really marvellous. It's

hard to know who to approach and what the outcome may be without any

recommendations.. so thanks. I printed a book here in Australia a few years ago,

paid a lot for the printing and they did a terrible job.

Oh wow, you guys are all so accomplished ^^ I am in awe.

Hi again Neiide, I'm ! This is just an ancient account with a silly name

(google converted me over there with all their email space).

:/ I wasn't there long enough to quite remember where Arcatuba is (or how to

make the special c) but your current project sounds amazing! I miss Brasil, it

is such a marvelous country! I sat in on a few portuguese linguistics courses 2

friends of mine were in while I was there, and from what I understood of it, it

was quite fascinating!

Also, so many awesome natural smells there, if you figure out how to capture

them and combine them with the oils. Seen a few cool methods mentioned in my

forum reading thus far :)

In so far as shipping from guild suppliers... Depending on the size of the

bottles you want... there are some ways to minimize customs/ ect difficulties,

as long as there isn't anything alcohol based in there. I don't know if the

companies themselves can do it, but I'm sure a friend in the states could pull

it off.

Whenever I did international trades/ swaps with BPAL, I'd label them as

'cosmetic samples' or 'cosmetic oils' or something like that depending on what

you ordered. But all the USPS people ever cared about was if I had anything

flamable in there :P (which is why you never want to mark anything non alcohol

based as perfume or the USPS worker will go nuts on you).

I think part of it was also that I marked them as 'gifts' for customs. It was

for much smaller things than I think you are talking about, and I don't want to

make unethical suggestions. But those are some techniques I have had success

with for international shipping oils. I'm sure there are people much more

knowledgeable around these parts, those were just the ideas off my sleepy head.
