I've been interested in growing frankincense for a while, and I nearly flipped when I saw one growing at Fairchild a few years ago. The mystique surrounding this plant!  Are you going to put it in the ground or keep it potted?  I really enjoyed that article. And I've spent many an hour perusing the Arid Lands website(my only beef with it is that they don't have pictures of the mature plant). I'm tempted to get a Boswellia. I would love to have an arid garden.
Guest guest
Thanks for the link Anya! Best of all is that the nursery described is just a few miles away from me and an ideal climate here to grow this. Looking forward to getting this growing here! Guest guest
That is soooo cool, Anya. I have never seen incense plants offered. I want 200 of them! HA Maybe I had better start with one and see if I can keep it alive here in our Mediterranean climate, alkalin, clay soil. Sandy M

What an interesting person. I'm tempted to contact him because of our shared backgrounds (Persian and architect). In Iran, incense (kandoor) is burned along with esphand to purify homes, ward off the evil eye, etc. I might try growing it in my garden as well. Perhaps that way we all can share in saving the species. Maggie
