You gained WT on others because they do not work in PA. or as pressure drops you retain salt with excess Aldo. What it did do was make my breasts bigger buy a cup and band size. Usually I am the first to gain weight on meds but spiro hasn't been one of them. Well Dr Grimm said bc, I stopped taking spiro and he felt that whatever else I was on was making me gain weight. But I don't understand how that could be bc, the spiro, made my breast enlarge too. That wasn't so bad, lol but the weight gain was ridiculous. I don't know if I am even eligible for the surgery, bc my kidneys. I really don't want to gain any more weight. I'm only 5'1" and was up to 152lbs!! I was that overweight when I was 9months pregnant with my first son. I don't think I want to go through this up and down. It is so frustrating. I've heard it's expensive and sometimes hard to get insurance companies to pay for, but supposedly it has less of the estrogenic side effects of spiro (the estrogenic effects are what causes the breast enlargement). If the others lower pressure they increase Na retention and WT goes up. When I stopped Diovan and Cardizem, my average BP dropped from 165/95 to around 140/90 within a matter of days. And I dropped 10 pounds in 2 weeks. Now my potassium is too low. What is this all about, do u need to just wake up and maintain this disease? And have blood work every other day? Just got on the scale and am 148lbs. Shaking my head. I stopped drinking beer for lent/fasting and I thought for sure all that barely/hop weight would pair me down at least ten lbs. Nope, I lost like 4lbs. In those 40days. S.
