Hello,

I was just diagnosed with PA and had a CT scan that did not show an

adrenal adenoma. Below are the results of some of the previous tests

that I have had.

Screening blood test:

Plasma renin activity: 0.22 (normal range 0.25-5.82 ng/ml/hr)

ALDO/PRA ratio: 63.6 (normal range 0.9-28.9)

Aldosterone: 14 (not sure of normal range for this test)

Potassium: 3.4 (normal range 3.5-5.5)

Follow-up test:

24 hr urine test for aldosterone: 34 (the upper limit for normal is 24)

Renin:(< 0.6, lower than the detection limit)

The next test my doctor is doing is some type of salt loading test. Is

this test enough to determine bilateral adrenal hyperplasia? My size

of my adrenal glands were in the normal range.
