Quick workout

My dad is coming over soon to take us out to lunch. We try to get together at least once every few weeks and planned this last week because the kids were off school today and now DH can join us too. Anyway, I got in a fast workout this morning, it was 30 minutes but didn't seem like it took that long. I did the arms and abs workouts from 10 Minute Solution Kickbox Bootcamp and the standing routine from Tamilee's stretch video (I can never remember the name of it and don't want to take time to look it up, sorry). Anyway, the arms was a little disappointing but not terrible. You do a lot of punches with light handweights and some without. It was a good one for beginners but didn't do a lot for me. I used 3s but wouldn't want to go a lot heavier because she moves fast (but controlled). She cues on the movement a bit but the routines are very simple and repetitive so it isn't too aggravating. I liked the "Washboard Abs" workout better. That one I felt. It had lots of plank moves, side crunches of various kinds and regular crunches. I won't feel it tomorrow but at least I felt like I was working when I did it. Tamilee's stretch was, as always, relaxing. That one is filmed on a beach and with it being so slow-paced (unlike a cardio routine) I can notice the sound of waves coming in against the beach and the scenery. I would use either of the Kickbox Bootcamp I did today workouts as add-ons, especially the abs. The 3 I did Tuesday were cardio intensive for me so I'd use them as a cardio workout. I'll probably add this to my wish list especially because it is nice to have those short kickboxing routines to help me "get" kickboxing without being overwhelmed by a longer video. It isn't as high on my list as other workouts though.

I did not get a workout in yesterday even though my heel was fine and I did have a backup plan if it wasn't. I got up late, worked late and then parent-teacher conferences ran late. DH told me about the job between work and conferences so I didn't have a lot of time to process it. I was exhausted when we got home from conferences at 5:30 and just wanted to veg. We told the kids a little while ago and they're okay. We're all doing okay today. Tomorrow I don't know if I'll work out. I have to work at 7 AM (why did I agree to this?) then go get my barbell, then grocery shop, come home for a little while and grab a snack, then meet some friends and drive together to a huge WW staff meeting. They're feeding us lunch and introducing new program material. It should be very interesting. We normally have small staff meetings than can be held in a WW center. They rented a big church so they could bring more people together at once. We'll see what that brings. Anyway, I'll get home around 3 or 4 probably and if I'm up to it, I'll get a workout in. DH should be home so that will be easier with the kids coming home from school around 4:30 (I like to be totally available to them when they first come in, if I'm not at least he will be). If I don't get one in it is fine. This is a really weird week and I didn't have high expectations for it anyway.
