Guest guest
I'm taking the norethindrone because of menstrual difficulties. If I'm not on some sort of hormone, either progestin-only or combined oral contraceptives, I get excessively heavy and painful bleeding about every 13 days, making it impossible to live a normal life! I've had problems relating to this since I was an adolescent. Been tested for cancers, all the obvious problems, and they can't find anything wrong other than low progesterone. I suspect this is related somehow to the PA; any thoughts on this? I wasn't on norethindrone when I took the spiro - at the time, the only med I took was spiro (it was at least 6 years ago). I've experimented with the norethindrone and it has no impact on my BP whatsoever. (For that matter, combination estrogen/progestin pills do not either.) Thanks for the citation, Dr Grim. I'll read it and pass that one on to my doctor. -msmith1928 45, female, 5'3 " , 120 lbs, 1cm left adrenal nodule, aldosterone 42.3, renin 0.5, potassium <2.9 (when not taking supplements); 25mg spiro caused gynecomastia, no HTN meds; other meds are 20MEQ K 2x/day, singulair 10mg, norethindrone .35mg, and cyclobenzaprine 5mg as needed; low sodium, fructose- and grain-free diet > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > As you have noted, there is very little information out > > > > > there on > > > > > > > the > > > > > > > > > pros and cons of surgery vs. meds.
