Guest guest
Was: Bodybuilding and Steroids What is the incidence of steroid use in (competitive) Weightlifting? [This is anyone's guess, because nobody talks about this issue in Weightlifting, largely because of legal and competitive actions which might result. One would imagine that steroid use has always been common in over 60% of all lifters. However, this sort of speculation is going to be of no consequence, particularly because it is fairly likely that steroids have been widely used in almost all sports over the past few decades. Even today, many athletes know how to take steroids without detection, especially during the off-season. It would be interesting to see if the same level of militant anti-doping action were to be conducted on every player at random every fortnight during the competitive and off-season for all pro sports. If this level of thoroughness were to become commonplace, it would be interesting to see how NFL, NBA and NHL athletes, for example, would fare. Can you imagine what would happen alone in the case of college athletic scholarships? Let's just recognise the current anti-doping system for the farce and hypocrisy that it currently is.
