Guest guest
OK, I'm sure there are loads and it has probably all been discussed/debated before. But when I sent the SMH atkins article (http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/10/22/1066631499123.html) to my dad's wife in the hopes of them reducing all the low fat stuff and refined carbs they eat, this is what she came back with: http://www.atkinsdietalert.org/ http://abcnews.go.com/sections/living/WorldNewsTonight/Atkinsstudies_030521.html So what's behind these guys? Filippa ps. I think I'll just go back to preaching to the converted - it's much easier! ;-)
Guest guest
>'I think I'll just go back to preaching to the converted - it's much >easier!' Man can I relate to that. We had our standard monthly unit birthday celebration yesterday here in the office.....usually it consists of gathering around in one of the kitchens on our floor, gossiping, and consuming some sweet confection. This month it was a store bought carrot cake. Luckily we haven't had a birthday in several months so I have been able to avoid this. So as usual I had to sit there with my glass of water and rebuttal every comment that was thrown at me while they tried to convince me to eat a piece of 3 inch frosting with a bit of cake somewhere underneath. Sigh. I am small, 5 foot and about 109 lbs, so of course when I say I avoid all carbs they just freak out thinking I am trying to lose weight, this and that. Then they start listing just how bad animal fats are for me, ect ect. I am extremely head strong to say the least, so of course I don't keep my mouth shut and by the end of the gathering I am just frustrated and everyone still looks at me like I have 3 heads. Sigh. _________________________________________________________________ Never get a busy signal because you are always connected with high-speed Internet access. Guest guest
Just say you don't like sweets. Seems much easier and people don't react as much. If they think you aren't on a special diet they don't seem so threatened by it.
