i'm glad you asked, as fenugreek is my favorite sprout! it's really

easy to find fenugreek seeds at indian shops, and they're fairly

cheap. actually, come to think of it, last year i asked a guy at an

indian shop to order a 10lb bag for me for a cheaper price, and it

took him a few months to get his act together, but i have a pretty

nice supply at the moment. probably the best thing to do is order

online; i'm sure there are plenty of good sources that would be cheap

in bulk. of course, try a small bag first from an indian shop

because you might not like the flavor!

they are the best behaved sprout of any i've tried. they never fail

and they sprout very quickly. the flavor gets very intense after

about three or four days, so try them in different stages. the

bitterness is very subdued if you eat them after only two days or so,

but i like them in all stages, even over a week when they start to

grow leaves.

i would eat much more fenugreek but it's high in phytoestrogens so i

keep it moderate.

i also enjoy making fenugreek tea. drop some in boiling water for a

few minutes and you're in for a VERY unique flavor experience, as

distinctive as anything you can imagine. the potential to be

revolting or addictive!

I just looked around at Bread and Circus and noticed they sell " sprouting

seeds " -- seeds sold with the intention of the consumer sprouting them. The

broccoli seeds go for $35 a package!
