caloric intake

I've said in the past that I eat 5-6000 calories a day, but I tabulated my

caloric intake yesterday for fun and found I only ate 4,677.8 calories. Granted

my workout was abnormally easy, and I probably eat more when my workout is

really tough. e.g. I didn't eat any ice cream, a bowl of which would have added

500 calories (for 1 cup).

Interesting to see the way it divides up. Breakfast was 326 calories, lunch

was 0 calories (I had celery, which I considered insignificant), pre-workout

was 120 calories, post-workout was 630 calories, and my " Warrior Meal " was

3,601.8 calories.

I mostly used the USDA's data here. Some of it, for egg yolks e.g., I

manipulated using other info I already knew about the distribution of fat and

protein between the two parts, and some of it might be confusing, e.g. the

bacon,

which I took the " raw " figures for, because I used all of the fat in a different

part of my meal, but just put down the protein plus fat for the caloric value

of the bacon, and ignored the fat in the part in which it was used. Anyway,

here's what I ate:

BREAKFAST

2 raw egg yolks -- 116 calories

3 stalks celery-- insignificant

1 tbsp almond butter-- 110 calories

1 cup coffee-- 40 calories

1 tbsp heavy cream-- 60 calories

total-- 326 calories

LUNCH

3 stalks celery-- insignificant

total-- insignificant

PRE-WORKOUT

1/4 lb raw heart-- 120 calories

total-- 120 calories

POST WORKOUT

1 serving undenatured whey protein--90 calories

24 oz raw, full-fat, Jersey milk-- 540 calories

total -- 630 calories

WARRIOR MEAL

6 slices bacon -- 622 calories

1 slice European Sourdough rye toast -- 110 calories

w/ 2 tbsp raw butter -- 204 calories

3-egg ommelette in the bacon fat -- 210 calories

w/ 2 tbsp parmesano reggiano -- 44 calories

1/2 lb wild Alaskan salmon -- 380.8 calories

w/ 1 tbsp butter -- 102 calories

1/2 cup mashed potatoes -- 230 calories

1/2 lb hamburger -- 364 calories

1/2 cup fermented carrots -- 70 calories

12 oz full-fat raw Jersey milk -- 270 calories

8 oz kombucha -- 100 calories

16 oz glass kefir -- 360 calories

another 16 oz glass kefir -- 360 calories

8 oz kombucha -- 100 calories

1/2 slice sprouted rye Manna bread -- 75 calories

ALL DAY TOTAL -- 4672.8 calories

Well, I work out, and you're injured, which probably accounts for some

difference. You should probably eat more during the day if you've been losing

any

weight, as that seems too few calories for a guy.

I used to be like this.  When you get over your injury, you should try

deadlifting (squatting too, but especially deadlifting for the back), some

colostrum, and *lots* of high quality food-- transformed my back.

Based on the very limited evidence I've seen, the evidence *suggests* that it

is ideal, if we take mice as a model, because mice who eat more calories but

have less body fat live considerably longer than mice who eat less calories

but have more body fat.  Nothing definitive though, you're right.
