The errors are too numerous to list. I expect that most of the pros on the group have picked up on that already. Irritants: Most any EO can be an irritant to some folks .. depends on their skin condition and other factors .. but that's not normally something to fear .. remove the irritant and the problem ceases. Sensitizers: There are EO that can sensitize under certain conditions .. and others that are known sensitizers under almost any condition. Sensitization can be for life. Photosenstizers: Too many citrus oils get a bad rap on this .. they will not cause a reaction on the average person .. but some others will cause a reaction 100% of the time and without concern for the skin condition or other factors. Photosensitization is not something one gets and then ever forgets. Dilution is a factor to be considered in all the above .. and area of application. There are other factors .. age of the oil, etc. To see the actual percentages of EO that have caused these conditions in humans .. tested by dermatologists .. one of the best desk side publications around is Watt's Safety Manual " Plant Aromatics " ... http://www.aromamedical.com/paper.html .. this pub tells us who tested what when and what were the results. It is not a perfect pub .. but in my opinion its the best. Not perfect for two reasons .. (1) Because in some cases results of the tests conducted were to be used by commercial producers ... in some cases hey put their finger on the scales. (2) There can be no logical long term follow up to determine if a chemical or EO can cause sensitization because .. it might occur many months or years later. Still ... the fact that an oil has been proven to be .. and is listed in a particular category .. has merit. There are some other interesting articles on safety and misinformation contained in 's archives ... http://www.aromamedical.com/articlesarchive.html Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch ... http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/>
