However, many people might not know that the 24-year-old Purdue University student will follow in the footsteps of his father and sister when he attends Palmer College of Chiropractic after completing his undergraduate degree. Wagner, who strongly endorses the benefits of chiropractic for race car drivers, says chiropractic plays an important role in his conditioning. " I want my body to function at 100 percent while racing, and with chiropractic care, I know I'm physically prepared, " the young driver stated. " Chiropractic health is essential to this sport. " Adding to the excitement of Wagner's quest for Indy is the fact the he plans to drive the first chiropractic sponsored IndyCar (pictured). The physical stress of racing is anything but chiro-friendly, which is why Wagner is the perfect spokesperson for chiropractic awareness. Reminder: Medicare ZPIC Self Audits ACA's Audit Defense Taskforce (ADT) announced earlier this month that several doctors of chiropractic have received letters from Medicare Zone Program Integrity Contractors (ZPIC). The ZPIC letters are requesting that DCs perform a self-audit on a specified list of patient records and dates of service that are provided on disc or in hardcopy form. The letters also request that DCs identify any overpayments based on a re-review of their documentation. If you receive a letter relating to a self-audit from any ZPIC contractor, ACA recommends contacting ACA's director of Federal & Regulatory Affairs, Meghann Dugan-Haas at or mdugan-haas@.... ACA also requests that you provide a copy of the request letter and patient information via email or fax at , Attn: ZPIC Request. For more information, click here. This year's observance (April 2-8), will focus on the theme- " A Healthier America Begins Today: Join the Movement " -and promote the importance of prevention and wellness in health care. Since doctors of chiropractic have been promoting prevention and wellness care or more than 100 years, this year's observance is a good opportunity to remind your community about the full value of the services you provide. To learn more about national public health week, visit http://www.nphw.org. The American Public Health Association (APHA) serves as the organizer of NPHW and develops a national campaign to educate the public, policy-makers and practitioners about issues related to that year's theme.
