She will describe role that CAM practitioners can play in addressing racial and ethnic disparities in health and in meeting the needs of uninsured and medically underserved communities  About the Presenter: Kim Tippens, ND, MSAOM, MPHc Dr. Tippens is an investigator at the Helfgott Research Institute at the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland. She has recently completed an NIH-funded post-doctoral fellowship and is finishing a Master of Public Health degree through OHSU. Her research focuses on health disparities and health services, including the role that CAM practitioners can play in addressing racial and ethnic disparities in health and in meeting the needs of uninsured and medically underserved communities. Dr. Tippens’ research is aimed at establishing accessible, acceptable, and effective preventive care to diverse communities and evaluating disparities in CAM access and utilization.
