Guest guest
I was diag with primary Aldosteronism 3 years ago when a mass was found on my right adrenal gland...... The kidney Dr did some blood test and it showed I had PA so she put me on spironolactone, I took that for almost 2 years and my kidney functions were dropping, so she took me off that and I decided I wanted surgery..... She said in order for surgery I needed to do AVS, Adrenal Vein Sampling. she told me the risks and I decided to do it...... turns out my left adrenal gland is the one producing the aldosterone and not the mass on the right side... My primary dr sent me for another CT scan just incase the last one was read wrong.......how can u read it wrong....???? well got all that done. Now my question is: Is there anyone here that can tell me there story on AVS, all compulations if any??? I had a bad compulation when I had it done and wanted to see if anyone else had the same problem..... I never want to do that again........NEVER!!!!!! I am a 50 year old femail in fairly good health besides the hypertension, I took 10 pills aday to keep my BP down but at times it would go up.......I am so scared about surgery......I dont even know if there is a dr here in my town....I was told I might have to go to TAMPA to have surgery....Any and all comments would be greatly appriceated..... THANKS Marie ps Sorry if my spelling is bad but my fingers are quicker that my brain.........
