Hi Male 35/obese/HTN/arr >80

Started on spiro 25mg BID ( 25am/25pm )

( 12 days of medication so far )

Full medication scheme:

50mg spiro/6mg atenolol/clonazepam 1mg/20mg omeprazole PM

Before

25mg atenolol/5mg amplodipine/2mg Terazosine

Clonazepam 1mg/20mg omeprazole

! blood values !

Starting laboratory for NA and K: ( before spiro ) September 14 2010

NA: 140.84 (normal 137-145 )

K: 3.35 (normal 3.5-5.1 )

Laboratory Today for NA and K: ( after spiro ) October 12 2010

NA: 145.81 (normal 137-145 ) (note, this is on a DASH diet )

K: 4.9 (normal 3.5-5.1 )

Signs of dehydration: None

Urine volumen has decreased with the spiro, as well as the BP.

Now I do not have external signs of dehyration, I know I'm drinking less water

than what I used to, because I do not get as thirsty, and I also urinate less

than I usually did.

I do not understand why my sodium is high, I understand why my K is normal now

because of the spiro, but why my sodium raised ??

someone please help thx !
