Guest guest
Hi! I was pretty much eyeing them all. The one that I'm pretty interested in is the AM/PM one as I would like something that is not longer than 30 minutes or so just so I can get into the habit of doing something in the evenings again. Today I previewed one I got in a trade several months ago - Transformation through Kundalini yoga with April Bernardi (sp?) This one looks pretty interesting, there is some " traditional " sun salutations in there as well as more of what i call " kundalini " yoga. The DVD has a 40 min practice and a 20 min practice. I may do that one for my Wed yoga session. I wish I could find my Mantra Girl DVD. I have a bad feeling I traded it since it isn't in my book or in my pile of " unfiled " DVDs. (I, like Caroly & keep mine in a book- actually 2 books - one for " regular workouts " one for yoga/Pilates/Tai Chi/T-Tapp- I also recycled the cases and keep the covers in sheet protectors in a separate book - I may start tossing some of the covers of the ones I know I won't sell or trade, just to make more room. I also keep a handful of cases in case I do want to sell/trade any of them) I really don't know much about Kundalini at all. I'll have to try to find out more b/c it does make me feel very alive and energized as well as positive. All good things, right? I can spend a fortune on Amazon right now on these things, but I'm restraining myself. Although I do need to add something to my cart to get free shipping. I'm going to order a book about teaching your kids to read - I think the title is Teach Your Child to Read in 100 easy Lessons. I'm not sure if 100 lessons will do it or not, but my DD (almost 4 1/2) is very interested in learning how to read. I figure we can try it and if she isn't ready I can put the book aside and use it when she is - even if it ends up being a supplement to her regular schooling. Provided her pre-school teachers feel she is ready it will be Kindergarten next year and I've heard that it has gotten very academic. The Kindergarten classes are all day here now and supposedly they do teach them how to read - sounds more like 1st grade to me -I guess preschool has replaced Kindergarten. Since my DD's birthday is right near the cut off I wasn't sure if I would send her or not - but I'll see what her teachers this year have to say. She doesn't have an interest in writing - not letters or numbers -I think she has a strong perfectionist streak in her and she knows she can't do it " right " so she doesn't want to do it all in spite of my telling her that the only way to get good at something is to practice. I don't push it though b/c I just figure it will be counterproductive and when she's ready she'll do it. We do have tons of activity books and I know that she has excellent comprehension and understanding of things - she can even do those darned analogies that we had on the SAT X to Y and A is to B...and all that stuff! She's really interested in learning to spell and can sight read a few words - her name, dog, cat, etc. Anyway, sorry to go off on a tangent. But if I had unlimited income I think I'd buy up all the Ravi/Ana dvds right now...... I'm just on such a kick with it!
