They're variously referred to in English as " Ossetes " , " Osets " , etc. They are a Sarmatian people living in the Caucasus mountains. Their country is called Ossetia or Alania. Their staple foods are kefir, brined ewe's milk cheese, cornmeal breads and mush, leafy greens, including uncultivate greens or weeds. They traditionally only eat meat on special occasions such as holidays, weddings and funerals. There are many cases, documented cases in fact, of people living over 120 years among these people.
