Description: Historical documentary examining East Germany's secret programme to feed its top female athletes with untested drugs during the Cold War. For decades, the communist GDR state administered harmful drugs to thousands of young women in a desperate bid to achieve sporting excellence. Former athletes, GDR doctors and scientists give their testimonies alongside archive footage and dramatic reconstructions
