Guest guest
Matt, my understanding is that necessary medical expenses such as transportation ,braces & supplies , and some OTC products are reimbursable by PIP. The PIP adjustor can supply your patient the form for this. this generally occurs after the expense is incurred and takes some time to get the $.,so there is a float time that somebody is going to bear. We are finding that most PIP won't pay for vitamins, or a decent price for cervical pillows.Braces etc have mixed results. We have a adopted a pay up front policy for most of these items. Transportation reimb generally follows IRS guideline but can vary, and companies vary on how long they take to pay both this and time loss if more than two weeks off.Depending on your good nature you may want to assist the patient in some way . I have a PIP pt who lives about 40 miles from our clinic, and just can't afford to come in more than once a week because of what it costs her in gasoline. Is there a way that she can get reimbursed from PIP? At this point in her care, she really needs to be here twice a week.Thanks,MattDr. Matt FreedmanChiropractic PhysicianPure Life Chiropractic, LLC315 West Broadway Suite 100Eugene, Oregon 97401(541) 343- 5633http://www.EugeneChiropractic.comhttp://www.EugeneHyperbaric.com ____________________________________________________________53 Year Old Mom Looks 33The Stunning Results of Her Wrinkle Trick Has Botox Doctors Worriedconsumerproducts.com
