Guest guest
In our office, we watch scheduling patterns and are careful as to how I word my notes. Meaning: If I want a person back in 3 weeksn, in my notes I will say 'return 2 - 4 weeks, prn discomfort' with the front desk scheduling a 3 week interval .... patient then knows that they have a range and, if needed can come in earlier or if not needed, can call and space out; then, I specify each 'today's discomfort' .... I also start my notes wth the phrase of: 'pateint returns for periodic care of his structural integrity concerns' and then proceed to describe whatever todays' integrity concerns are. Don't know if this is the magic bullet or not but we have not received any flak about our procedures. skSunny Kierstyn, RN DC Fibromyalgia Care Center of Oregon 2677 Willakenzie Road, 7CEugene, Oregon, 97401541- 654-0850; Fx; 541- 654-0834www.drsunnykierstyn.com To: skrndc1@...; johncc48@...; spinetree@...CC: bluepearl2001@...; oregondcs ; cmathdc@...From: commongroundchiropractic@...Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2012 09:32:41 -0700Subject: Medicare benefits? We have had the darndest time with Medicare and even getting our patients reimbursed (unless they have an outside vendor) for the most part medicare usually says it is maintenance. I know some Docs accept assignment but we are a non-participating provider. I have found that for those VA patients the coverage is so worth it. They are so appreciative of the Humana coverage that it just feels good to help! Yes we get paid at about the level of our overhead. Is that ok? It sure is to help someone who needs it. It is usually paperwork free for me because my staff is able to do most of the justifications. Colwell $33/ visit? I’m afraid I won’t be accepting VA program patients. That’s just ridiculous. I don’t care if they gave unlimited visits. ph Medlin D.C. I've seen a couple of patients who decided to go onto the VA program. We were able to get one fellow 6 visits then renewed that a second time. I was paid at the federal rate @ $33 per visit with adjustment and therapies. The patient tried to get more treatment, but the prescribing MD wouldn't budge and I lost the patient. Christian Mathisen, D.C. VA Chiro benefits? Somewhere along the line I thought Vets had be granted chiro benefits?Right or wrong? Many thanks,Ann
