Guest guest
So do concretes actually last longer, note-wise, if you have to strain out the solids in alcohol-based perfumes? Or is that just in oil-based perfumes or undiluted forms? For example, lavender eo is usually classified as a top note, lavender absolute as heart note, and lavender concrete as base note. If you added lavender concrete to an alcohol based perfume, then strain the floral waxes and other insoluable materials from the concrete out, will the lavender still be a base note, lasting longer than if you had used lavender absolute? If so, why? I don't understand how after removing the waxes and insoluables how it would be different in volatility or staying power than the absolute. Isn't the absolute essentially a " strained " version of the concrete, without the waxes? Thanks much!
