Alkaline-Forming Foods

I recently became aware of the concept of alkaline-forming foods. Did I miss

something in NT or is this not addressed? My most recent read is Tired of

Being Tired by Lynn Hanley M.D. and Deville. It has recipes

from NT and The Schwarzbien Principle. Anyone heard of it? What do you all

think of alkalinizing?

It's totally bogus. It's not mentioned in NT for that reason. Check out the

archives on this list or the articles section of www.price-pottenger.org for

an article by Price presented at a dental conference where he essentially

disproves the whole thing, some 70 years ago.

Not except what Roman posted earlier about lemons being an " anionic " food,

which I could make no sense of whatsoever.

I don't see how that's possible, since the majority of the groups Price

studied had net acid-forming diets, and many of the modern diets that led to

disease they adopted were a net shift towards base-forming foods, according to

Price.

Are you familiar with the work of Dr. Carey Reams? The reason I ask is

that he took his work as a soil scientist and applied it to the

overcoming of sickness in the human body. Obviously he would be big a

big proponent of the alkaline issue.

At any rate I seem to remember an article that stated he and Dr. Price

were saying the same thing just from a different perspective. Perhaps

someone on this list has read it and would be kind enough to post a link.

I can't seem to find it.
