Dear Tom,

I'm from Madison, Wisconsin too but I've been living in Canada for

many years. Madison is a great place to live! I started the

Wisconsin Consumer's League in 1966, had a radio-talk show, etc.

I went through most of my elementary schooling and high school in

Madison and graduated from good old West High School in 1959. My

parents live near Ladysmith, Wisconsin.

It's sad that you can't find raw dairy in the dairy state. I don't

have any resources for you, but others here might help.

Best of luck on your search and if you find anything I'd like to know

too.

Cheers, Bee

Hey, Bee! Nice to meet a fellow Madisonian. I went to West, too--class

of '98. Grew up on the West side near the Odana golf course, went to

Oberlin College outside Cleveland, spent last year in DC, and now I'm

back in Madison, living downtown on W. St. and shopping at the

venerable Willy Street Co-op.

Tim of Clearview tipped me off to the fact that the Siegmanns deliver

raw dairy to Madison. I just e-mailed them to find out about it. I'd

noticed them in the WAPF directory, but didn't realize how close

Rubicon was to Madison--I guess because it's in a different area code.

Where do you live in Canada?

Tom,

I see you mention that you emailed the Siegmann's for information. I just

wanted to let you know that the last time I tried their email address it didn't

work. You might want to try calling them - but be prepared to leave a message -

they're busy folks.

Dear Tom,

Hey, Tom! We both went to West eh? Great school! But you're just a

youngun compared to me. LOL! I can't remember where the Odana golf

course is. I lived in the " Lost City " - Forest Park, which was then

in the Town of Madison. I think it's south. I went to Silver Spring

elementary school on the Beltline. I also lived on Street at

one time! Lo!

I'm glad you are getting some info on raw milk sources.

Now I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It's a beautiful city of

almost One Million, in the foothills - only 80 miles from Banff and

the gorgeous mountains. Calgary is famous for their annual Stampede.

Glad to have you with us Tom!

Thanks for the welcome, Bee! I can't promise I'm going to be posting

much---with a full-time job and so much to do, I barely have time to

skim the posts a few times a week. :(

I remember Calgary...specifically, in 1988 on family trip out West. My

main memory is eating at a Mc's (ugh) with a view of the big

Olympic ski jump on the mountainside. I was only 8 so that's about all

I remember. I loved Banff and Jasper, beautiful!
