Guest guest
Ladies, First let me say that I appreciate so much the advice and encouragement that this board gives. I took advice yesterday on buying better shoes to reduce the pain of shin splints. I used them this morning and it helped tremendously! I had to go to about 5 places before I found some to fit me. Here in China, the sizes stop at 8.5. I wear a 9. I finally found a pair of size 8.5 Nikes that were comfortable enough to wear. When you live in a different country, the word Challenge has a whole new meaning:) I have a few more questions. I am wondering if I am mis calculating my portion sizes and therefore do not see much weight loss. I know that you can't count on the scale but I still want to see it drop! So, can you remind me what a serving is? For instance, cooked oatmeal would be about 2/3 C. Is that right? I am 5'4 if that makes any difference. How about rice, pasta nad potato? The next questions is, each meal should contain around 20 g. of protein and carbs. Right? If I reduce my portion sizes, will it still equal that? The last question is: We are still feeling tired. I thought I had read that if you eat more of the complex carbs, it will give energy. Is that right? I had oatmeal this morning with protein powder. Lunch will be 1/2 a chicken breast, frozen veggies and sweet potato. If I add more veggies and complex carbs, will that help? I thought they had more calories and so I choose a fruit instead. Please help! thank you so much for everything. We do want this to be for life. My entire family is eating healthy from my 15 year old down to my 5 year old. I know it may take me several challenges to be where I want to be. I just need the reassurance that it will happen and we are not wasting our time:)
