Didn't this come around in the 70s? It used to be the solution for acid reflux as well. Have you ever tried to sleep with the top of the bed raised? You end up in a curl at the bottom! There's about a mile's worth of gap between that theory and reality, IMHO. Maybe sleeping that way works for some people. All I got was back pain, neck

pain and and other irritating things that drove me to see a chiropractic

functional neurologist (this was before I moved to Portland).

I just visited Plymouth, MA and learned that many of the colonists slept sitting up in bed. They believed that evil spirits would enter their lungs and make them sick. I think they did this to deal with the lung congestion problems they all had from living with all the smoke from their fireplaces. I can't imagine trying to sleep upright. How do other primates sleep?
