Guest guest
Here is something for everyone suffering from fibromyalgia to consider. Since being diagnosed with Heredity Hemochromatosis, I try to read everything I can about it. Fibromyalgia is a symptom. AND, hemochromatosis is in the top three most common genetic disorders and the least diagnosed. Ask your doctors to run Ferritin and Iron levels. Since HH is genetic, there is no cure, but there is treatment to reduce Ferritin and iron levels which will increase quality of life. Once these levels are reduced, most symptoms disappear. I am in the de-iron phase and still have a way to go. I had a phlebotomy on Wednesday and have never reacted this way. Could be several things. 1) Had to take an extra bp pill because my bp was way to high, then I had 600 ml of blood removed. Probably my bp dropped to quickly, but about 45 minutes after, I started sweating horribly and saw spots in front of my face. My dad was driving and hollering at me. I told him as I layed the seat back, I think I'm going to pass out. Next week I will only have 500 ml taken and see if that makes a difference. 2) Had my last of three hep a/b shots. Don't really see how that would make me sick, the other two didn't. Anyway, for all of you. Please ask your docs to run Ferritin and Iron labs. This is such a misdiagnosed disease that can be fatal and symptoms are common to other disorders. This is a very common disease and people don't know they have it.
