Guest guest
While Istvan Javorek's post below may be of academic interest, it seems like lots of people know what I'm talking about when I say Romanian Deadlift. The exercise I'm describing is not the same as a regular deadlift at all, as knee extension is of almost no significance in raising the weight. Perhaps 'Semi-stiff legged deadlift' would be appropriate. The thing I don't like about the name 'Stiff Leg Deadlift' is that many people seem to think it means 'STRAIGHT Leg Deadlift', and then go about doing a large portion of the movement via back flexion and extension - while some think this is a good exercise, I'm skeptical, and in any case it is not a neutral-spine hip flexion exercise. It was easier to say Romanian Deadlift instead of Javorek, or > Cioroslan or Vlad. I know this current habit of baptizing exercises.
