While Istvan Javorek's post below may be of academic interest, it seems

like lots of people know what I'm talking about when I say Romanian Deadlift.

The exercise I'm describing is not the same as a regular deadlift at all,

as knee extension is of almost no significance in raising the

weight. Perhaps 'Semi-stiff legged deadlift' would be appropriate.

The thing I don't like about the name 'Stiff Leg Deadlift' is that

many people seem to think it means 'STRAIGHT Leg Deadlift', and then

go about doing a large portion of the movement via back flexion and

extension - while some think this is a good exercise, I'm skeptical,

and in any case it is not a neutral-spine hip flexion exercise.
