Well I'm sure there are heaps of variations on what I mentioned.

But part of language teaching is talking/asking about food and

eating habits and I always found it interesting that only about 1 in

10 students or even less ate the traditional Japanese breakfast,

most had bread/coffee and maybe salad (yep, salad for brekky!). I

don't think the breakfast cereals have really taken off there but

it's only a matter of time...

Their beer snacks are interesting btw, dried little fish, dried

squid, stuff like that.

about soba (buckwheat noodles), I didn't realise they were

originally made with buckwheat and rice flour. now they are made

with buckwheat and wheat flour. I don't think 100% buckwheat

noodles are possible (correct me if I'm wrong).
