Guest guest
Hi, Yvette~! CONGRATULATIONS! You're so close! I'm excited to see what tips people tell you to get rid of those last few pounds.. By the way, what is ESE? A supplement? Yeah, today I weighed in at 161 lbs - 11 lbs from my goal weight. I used ESE for the last 2 months (2x per week) and shed 18lbs pretty easily within 1.5 month. For the last 3 weeks I'm stuck at around 161 - 162lbs. It drives me crazy! I hate doing everthing right, but still going nowhere! (I'm 5'9 - so 150lbs is good for me - I think....) Any ideas on getting shedding these last few pounds? We are going to Mexico in January - a loooong planned event. I'm crazily excited to get out of this Canadian winter and into my size 18 swimwear - oh no, wait, I'll have to buy new ones, since I'm a size 10 now! I'm still only doing 3x cardio per week. Should I up that? Thanks, Yvette
Guest guest
ESE is Eat Stop Eat, the intermittent fasting program by Brad Pilon. http://eatstopeat.com/ Doing it 2x per week means she went with out food for 24 hours twice a week. I know, sounds crazy, but there is research to back it up. Strength training is mandated so you don't lose muscle. I tried it and didn't die (lost 6lbs in 5 weeks, none of which was lean mass). A lot of other people have had success with it. You never go an entire waking day without food. You may fast from noon to noon or 6pm to 6pm. So, you're still getting in a couple of meals even on " fasting " days. It's not for everybody. It flies in the face of BFL's eat every 2-3 hours mandate, but it works surprisingly well for a lot of people. You create your whole calorie deficit for the week in one or two days and the rest of the week you eat normally and don't have to restrict calories. Which means on a BFL style diet you'd still be eating your six meals on non-fasting days but you'd get to have maybe 2,000+ calories per day instead of the 1200-1500 women typically eat for fat loss. Anyway, Yvette, I would pay attention to increasing your overall activity level and the intensity during your workouts. If you add another cardio session or two, either keep it brief (a 4th 20 minute HIIT session) or if the duration is longer (say 45 minutes) keep the intensity down. You don't want to add lots of lengthy cardio sessions in conjunction with fasting. You could also shake up your strength training with more standing, free weight and body weight moves that have you up and burning more calories. For example, walking lunges instead of seated leg extensions. Tall step-ups instead of machine leg curls. Also, even though you're supposed to eat at maintenance level or above on non-fasting days, make sure it isn't turning into maintenance " plus " with portions creeping up or too many extras included. Congratulations on the 18 pounds, that's fantastic! On Sun, Nov 2, 2008 at 10:14 AM, ysnyman <no_reply > wrote: > Yeah, today I weighed in at 161 lbs - 11 lbs from my goal weight.
