Thank you Elise. It is really wonderful that these plants are sacred where ever

they are found. I wonder whether they were spread across the world for their

beauty or their powers?

big pot. Next year I'll have to put it on my list of things to plant. Most of

the really neat plants can't be grown here in Virginia without a greenhouse. I

grew up near San Diego, CA and had quite a collection of plants. My favorite

was a Night Blooming Jasmine (I think not a true Jasmine), as kids we would walk

the neighborhood and stand in streams of fragrant currents of air.

such a scholarly and beautiful article. BTW, it's not the

Grimaldi variety I've raved about. It's my other, rather

no-name peach/pink one.
