You and your community of patientshave an opportunity to provide public comment regarding the proposed Administrative Rules for CCOs. The CCO model is starting with the Medicaid population but is quickly being adapted for inclusion in the Health Insurance Exchange and for other publicly insuredand commercially insured populations. We know how important it is to provide access to the CAM disciplines to Oregonians. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by both submitting your own comments about the importance of your services to yourpatients – but perhaps more importantly, encouraging your patients to submit public comment about the value of your services. Please keep in mind that the patient perspective will resonate more soundly with this audience. We have taken the opportunity to submit our own comments highlighting the applicability of CAM to Dr. Berwick’s triple aim.Better care for individuals, described by the six dimensions of health care performance listed in the Institute of Medicine’s 2001 report “Crossingthe Quality Chasmâ€: safety, effectiveness, patient-centeredness, timeliness, efficiency, and equity.Better health for populations, through attacking “the upstream causes of so much of our ill health,†such as poor nutrition, physical inactivity, and substance abuse.Reducing per-capita costs. We’ve also highlighted the holistic, patient-centered nature of CAM, its relative lack of invasiveness, and the satisfaction experiencedby patients. We talked about the cost-effectiveness and therapeutic effectiveness of CAM in particular with regard to chronic pain, back pain and chronic illness. We know there is a dearth of primary care providers in our state and that chiropractic physicians and naturopathic physicians are wellsuited to mitigate that gap. We encourage you to act now. Public comment is being accepted until July 22. You can submit your comments and direct your patientsto email their comments to cheryl.peters@....The CHP Group6600 SW 105th Ave Ste 115Beaverton, OR 97008T E providers@...FacebookTwitter This message was sent tovsaboe@... from:The CHP Group | 6600 SW 105th Ave Suite 115 | Beaveton, OR 97008Email Marketing by Unsubscribe
