O | C6600 SW 105th Ave, Ste 115 | Beaverton, OR 97008Dean, College of Chiropractic It is with great pleasure that the University of Bridgeport Division of Heath Sciences announces the following recent academic appointments: Wickes, M.A., D.C., has been appointed dean of the College of Chiropractic (UBCC). Dr. Wickes was initially trained as a chiropractic physician in Illinois and has spent most of his professional life in the academic setting. He has served as the chief academic officer at two institutions: the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) and the University of Western States (UWS). In addition to his professional doctorate, he holds a master’s degree in education and human development from Washington University, for which his focus was on contemporary educational methods and practices, the best practices in teaching with technology, critical appraisal of educational technology, instructional design and leadership. He has served as a faculty member, department chair, director, dean, and vice president. Dr. Wickes has also been very active in the chiropractic profession at the national and international level, including being involved at a multitude of levels with the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC), Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE), Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME), World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC), Congress of Chiropractic State Associations (COCSA), the Chiropractic Summit, National Board of Chiropractic Examiners (NBCE), and the American Chiropractic Association (ACA). He has also helped the Universidade Anhembi Morumbi develop a chiropractic degree program in Sao o, Brazil. UBCC is committed to training doctors of chiropractic as portal of entry providers capable of successfully meeting the challenges of today’s integrative health care environment, while respecting the various approaches and philosophies inherent within our diverse chiropractic community.
