Guest guest
A public thanks to Dr. Abrahamson for his online boundaries seminar. The varied approach of interviews, videos, texts and links kept my attention while the ability to take in the material in small bites throughout the day (and to review the material at will) made for one of the best required hours experiences I have ever had. It is obvious that he put many hours of thought and work into the production of this offering. The interviews of professionals and those that have experienced boundaries violations made this a thought provoking and sometimes heart wrenching experience. And it saved me a $70 tank of gas by not having to travel! presented some great ideas for draping patients when working on sensitive areas. Here's one more - give female patients a pillow to hug when performing AP thoracic moves. It helps protect sensitive tissues and provides a layer of " safety " between the doctor and patient. Food for thought - Is it a boundaries violation for a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, SO, lover, wife, husband or business associate to become a patient? Does the fulfillment of " Honey, my back hurts, could you give me a quick adjustment? " constitute a doctor/patient relationship? Is it considered unethical to perform " backroom chiropractic " on friends and family? Does an appreciative hug from a grateful patient constitute a boundaries violation? Is it a boundaries violation or unethical to enter into a business relationship with a patient? And why do you only get a single garment when you buy a pair of pants? Thanks again, . Now maybe you can get back to your comedy routines to lighten up the atmosphere after this heavy subject matter.
