Guest guest
, This is terrific. How about getting some handouts from the WAPF? There are some good brochures that summarize points about traditional foods very nicely, and the booklet about shopping for healthy foods could be useful. That literature could help you make an outline for your talk, too. At 02:16 PM 10/05/2003 +0000, you wrote: >Hello everyone ! >I need some help. Guest guest
Personally I have zero luck talking about nutrition with anyone in terms of what is *bad* ... I invite them over for lunch and talk about how *good* the food is and why. Give them samples of yummy jerky, and when they go " WOW! That's good " I say " yeah, and no nitrates! " . And give them a kefiili smoothie and some homegrown eggs over easy with hashbrowns. Or whatever I have around. Had them a PDF (pretty soon I'll have a whole cookbook) and usually they go home with a Longhorn steak too. The people I've known who have really " converted " to good eating all say they don't like going to restaurants so much because the food just isn't as good as what they can make ... and these are folks that go to pricey resaurants! I think the attitude that regards SAD food as on a culinary level with dried catfood works better than talking about the dangers of sugar. It's really hard to get a bone out of a dogs mouth if you pull on it ... but offer him a steak .... So if you can manage that 45 minutes over a good steak dinner with baked potato with fresh butter and GOOD lettuce salad, you won't have to say much! But since you probably can't, I'd at least have pictures of good NT meals and how-to handouts, if you can swing it. Then just say enough to get them curious. (If you like my handouts they are free for distribution). -- Heidi >but because I only have 45 minutes, I do not know >how to limit myself. Guest guest
Hi All What we have found to work best is " cook it, don't talk about it " . If it is good as most NT stuff is aslong is it isn't some wild fermented or raw stuff the conversation will arise on its own. Start simple and hand out the recipes after to let them see how easy it is. Tim Re: help with a conference !
