Guest guest
-Hi , Don't know if this will be of interest to you.My breast size has always been an A cup. Also as a young adult I suffered with eating Disorders Anorexia and then Bulimia .I also have had a premature menopause at age 40 yrs. My father has an Aortic aneurysm and has also had to have part of his pancreas removed ,because of some abnormalities that showed up on Ultra sound scan and now has to have insulin. When I had eating disorders,it wasn't really about the need to be slim, but an overwhelming compulsion that I had little control over to eat and eat.I would also become very jittery, foggy and exhausted. Guest guest
Sharon, Everything is of interest to me. It may be one of those little tidbits that holds the clue:-))) Well, it certainly sounds with premature menopause that your hormone balance may be a little off kilter. Interesting that you had eating disorders with that. I have had a weight problem for most of my life so I know how distressful it can be. It can rule your every waking moment. Do you have any signs of hypoglycemia by any chance, feeling lethargic mid day which is relieved by eating, terrible hunger pangs, mood swings, maybe a tendancy NOT to eat when you get up but delay for a few hours. Also does eating make you sleepy? Regards your father, my dad has a 5 cm aortic aneurysm and at the time it was diagnosed I did a lot of research on it. Copper plays a very important role in the vessel structure apparently and I noticed that on a blood mineral test I insisted on when he came over to Germany where I was living at the time, his red blood cell copper level was almost imperceptible.. I also found some research on an interesting website about turkeys and aneurysms where the problem was resolved by supping with copper. A local trace mineral specialist tells me also that sheep and cows on autopsy with suspected aneurysms have also low copper! They test the liver to find out. Everytime I go over to my parents I now give my dad zinc and 2 mg of copper and he's still alive and kicking ( despite being on 8 different meds thanks to his GP...groan) Re: Re: Big boobs and being over weight> > > > Iv'e done the poll , but wonder if any others are like me and have put on weight with age including bust size.> Also think the comfort eating may conribute, plus not having the time for eating properly.> My Oestrogen was tested recently though and came back as high, the Dr thought this was great, thyroid was borderline.> Vicky>
Guest guest
Hi . Those signs of hypoglycaemia describe me well.If fact I was thinking Sunday evening how much more energy I have following my evening meal.Often in the afternoon early evening I feel exhausted with tired ,heavy limbs.I do feel very much different after food. Recently I attended the Osteoporosis clinic at our local hospital to check for brittles bones, which thankfully I haven't got.I was prescribed HRT.I haven't taken it religiously as I am having trouble quitting smoking, but when I did ,it was remarkable how less tired I felt. My daughter Katy who has autism ,has on 2 occassions shown a low blood potassium.I presume there could be many reasons for this, but I remember that Diabetics can have altered blood Potassium. She often has times when she is very quiet and lethargic and then after eating seems to come to life. She also has periods of having a great need to eat in excess. Thanks for the tip about the copper.I'll tell my father about it.My father is also like a walking pharmacy ! Guest guest
Sharon, Try naturally based chromium 100 micrograms from Nordpharma. Chromium is key to getting the glucose into the cell. I have been on chromium for the last three months and I actually ran down the local yesterday much to my amazement. I get up in the morning and don't tire as easily. Housework doesn't send my mind into a whirl. AND I can tolerate that glass of wine more than before when it used to literally prostrate me. When I have more time I'll try to write something up on it as I think glucose metabolism might be quite central to our children's problems. I have a feeling that gluten infractions is really the insulin levels gouing crazy. High insulin is known to cause aggression. Could be also the reason for the pervasive junk food addiction as the brain reacts to the little glucose in the cells (it's swimming around in the blood) and creates cravings for carbs. Guest guest
Thanks . Will try the chromium for myself and Katy. You may have solved a problem for me with regard to the alchohol tolerance.Last year !I went out with some work collegues, only had 1 1/2 glasses of wine.It effected me terribly.I didn't know where I was, lost my memory of being out and what a hangover the next day !!!My mates thought it was very funny,I thought I had been drugged ! Will look forward to your write up !You've given me lots to look up and think about. Guest guest
100mcg of chromium from Pharmanord. You can find this in health shops. Try combining it with biotin, maybe 1 mg daily of that. Avoid any white wheat based products ( forgot to add that into response to Sharon) and try to stay off white sugar. Let me know how it goes. I actually wanted to set up a poll for hypoglycemia to see what the results might be. I was tested for this years ago. You fast the night before, then given a dose of pure glucose and blood taken every hour for 5 hours. My blood glucose went plummetting which meant my insulin was going nuts and uncontrolled...not healthy! I have read about chromium deficiency in American soil but need to find out about it here. It would n't surprise me at all that the aggressive behaviour on the up and up here (note warning signs NOT to assault staff up everywhere) is because we are a nation of hypoglycemics. The tons of sweets and refined foods is taking a nasty toll...just my hunch......Oh did I add somewhere that high insulin levels are known to correlate with aggression! Guest guest
-Thanks , I've ordered the Chromium and I'm looking forward to the effects ! When is the best time to take it ?Do you know how much I should give an 11yr old girl ? I've been thinking about Katy's diet, she is LOD and more or less SCD apart from some white rice 2-3 x a week.Is it foods that are low in their glycaemic index that keep blood glucose more stable? She has fibre from the flour I make out of mung beans and chestnuts, but otherwise has foods that are simple sugars apart from meat. Guest guest
Me too - all the sypmtoms you mentionned - my sister tested positive for insulin resistance, plus my Dad had an aeotic anerism and pancreatitis (and triple by pass, rheumatiod arthritis, cancer of the colon and obstructive sleep apnea). It is a mircle he is still here really. > > > > Vicki, > > > > Comfort eating, according to one school of thought, may be the > body's way of securing enough carbs to manufacture serotonin. > > > > I don't know enough about estrogen levels to say anything about > your test results. > > > > I have a theory about weight increasing with age but will get back > to that later. > > > > Thanks for your input...Much appreciated.. > > > > :-)) > > > > > > Re: Re: Big boobs and being > over weight > > > > > > > > Iv'e done the poll , but wonder if any others are like me > and have put on weight with age including bust size. > > Also think the comfort eating may conribute, plus not having the > time for eating properly. > > My Oestrogen was tested recently though and came back as high, > the Dr thought this was great, thyroid was borderline. > > Vicky > > >
Guest guest
-Gosh ! this is scarey. We have a strong family history on my father's side of Colon Cancer. I think I read a while back about low Serotonin and eating disorders. Guest guest
---Just to add to this thread, my daughter was so hypyglycaemic she needed over-night NG tube feeds to get her through the night, or on occasion, she would suffer a fit. Before she was diagnosed, she had one and when she arrived at hospital they checked her blood sugar level and it was 0.9. She was in a fit for over an hour, so we nearly lost her. She can now go about 17 hours before the sugar levels fall too low. Had to stay in hospital to run the tests. Regards Glynis In Autism-Biomedical-Europe , " JULIE GRIFFITHS " wrote: > > Wow, you too! I have been trying to sneak chromium into my father (quadruple bypass 1986) but my mother stands guard over him because she thinks I go too far sometimes. So I found out that brewers yeast is a good source of chromium, however you have to take a lot of tablets to make up the 100-200 mcg. She's very happy giving him that. Its also got the Sac b in it. > > Regards, > > > > > > > > > Re: Re: Big boobs and being > > over weight > > > > > > > > > > > > Iv'e done the poll , but wonder if any others are like me > > and have put on weight with age including bust size. > > > Also think the comfort eating may conribute, plus not having the > > time for eating properly. > > > My Oestrogen was tested recently though and came back as high, > > the Dr thought this was great, thyroid was borderline. > > > Vicky > > > > > >
Guest guest
Now that is interesting a possible seizures and sugar connection. I am on a pet animal list that was discussing seizures in dogs the other day. Two ladies said when their dogs had seizures they gave them sugar(!) and the seizures stopped immediately! This doesn't surprise me as the brain relies heavily on glucose to keep going. When the supply dwindles, brain activity closes down.... witness diabetics....I am glad you were able to figure out the glucose connection in the nick of time...phew......
