RE: carers' discount

was talking to my mum yesterday about the discount you get for carers at theme parks, leisure centres, tourist attractions, etc. She said she’d be too embarrassed to ask for it if she was taking Tom out. Tom gets taken out by his therapists too and sometimes I feel it’s too much to get them to ask for it (although they do). Mum suggested making a card that asks the question for you. I can type something for them to take. What should it say? Would this be something TA could sell? What do other people think?

>>>>contact local coucil and ask about 'Access to Leisure' and getting a badge which usually allows the disabled person in for free and the carer and very reduced rates.

Are they embarrased for themsleves or asking in front of Tom? He/she who doesn't ask doesn't get.........

Yes we

have these card.

Here they are called Leisure Key cards and you can buy them at local

library.  You have to show proof of DLA

and Carers allowance and buy the card for about £5 but then get big discounts

into any local authority run activity also lots of theme parks, museums etc

accept them.  The carer gets in for free

and the disabled person gets a reduced rate.
