Janet, Have you ever heard of this substance " Ibogaine " ? It was supposedly given to the Bwiti people of Africa by the Pigmies, and hasn't been used in western culture until about 40 years ago. It's banned in the U.S. but is synthesized and used by doctors in Canada, Mexico, Italy, The Netherlands, etc. I just talked to my friend who has been down in Mexico for a while now, and he told me he's been using it and has successfully kicked a 600 milligram a day morphine habit. He said he watched another patient be cured of schizophrenia completely. He says that this substance completely counteracted the damage caused to his brain by large doses over many years of government LSD. Apparently this substance awakens the brain's natural repair mechanisms, so any repair done by this substance is permanent.
