Guest guest
Hi - I haven't been involved in any group postings for CMT; however, regarding the testing, I know there is a 50/50 chance that you pass it on to your children. My dad was tested positive for CMT after numerous blood tests following a massive heart attack. The doctors were not looking for CMT, but they found it in his blood work. My dad never had any sign of CMT and didn't even know about it. I started feeling something was wrong when I was in my mid-20s (I am now 41), but I didn't didn't say anyting to anyone, until my dad told me about his blood tests. I have 3 siblings, 2 sisters and a twin brother, and out of all 4 of us, I am the only one that has tested positive for CMT. I see a doctor who specializes in CMT, he found that I have CMT by doing the blood test, it takes about 3-4 weeks to get results back. My insurance company covered all my testing. It's worth getting the blood test.
