Guest guest
What a day yesterday. Spent all day at the hospital. Saw the surgeon, he didn't really know what was going on with my daughter. Told us that we needed to see an ENT. I appreciate his honesty, said the neck was not his expertise. I said my daughter's doc tried to get her in to an ENT but he is not available until after Christmas. The surgeon said let me talk to him. From there we were seen immediately. He ordered stat blood work, stat ct scan, and then saw us again to discuss what they found. She doesn't need emergency surgery, but she needs surgery ASAP. He is in surgery all day today and is booked until after the holidays. Monday he is going to figure out a way to get her in, we should know Tuesday when she will be scheduled. Now for diagnosis. Forgive spelling if it is wrong. She has some kind of cyst. At first, before ct scan he was saying lymphoma. He still is not sure until it is out, but is almost certain it is not cancer. The cyst is full of fluid. It is golf ball size on the outside of her neck, and double that size on the inside. He does not want to asperate in case it leaks for fear of spreading cells if it is lymphoma. This cyst is so HUGE it is pressing on her Carrodic Artery, Juggular Vein, Jaw and throat. Now we know why she is talking so strange and having so much throat pain. Surgery will be day surgery and take anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours. She is handling all of this much better than I expected. She is relieved that it is going to come out. She keeps telling her friends, I'm handling this better than Mom. LOL this is her first surgery that she can remember, mom has been through a few. I'm going to be a basket case until she's in recovery and stable. Thank you all for letting me write and get this off my chest. I know we are all dealing with our own illnesses, but having this happen to my daughter has made me pull strength for somewhere, and taken my mind off of my liver disease and upcoming treatment. Hugs to all of you.

Guest guest
, I hope she can have the work done and be home in time for Christmas. I also hope they don't find anything nasty. Now did anyone ever tell you that like life, having children, can be like riding a roller coaster? You will have your ups, your downs, and your twists. With a little good luck, you will all come out right side up. Sue http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/betterbodybuddies/?yguid=137091429 http://www.peternoone.com.
