Hi everyone

I think we should also look to the empirical and research experience and

observations of a generation or two of aromatherapists, and the texts and

advices all aromatherapists study.

When you consider that aromatherapists are using e oils therapeutically - often

for treatment of skin conditions - then you have a bunch of professionals who

know a thing or two about safe application and admin of potential irritants,

allergens, senitisers etc.

Aromatherapy 101 always starts with this!

And from there we learn that dose, type and frequency of application, the

presence of heat, water and occlusion, the carrier etc... all play a role in

determining untoward response.

I mean BLIMEY - there's at least one text out there which is devoted to

AromaDermatology!!!

I don't think I'd be too far off the mark in suggesting that one bad reaction

can ruin a therapeutc relationship, and lose the client for good.

Yet tell me how many 'typical customers' have ever given up on synthetic-laden,

mass produced, high profile cosmetics or fragrances, based on one bad reaction?

I'd suggest they change brands, over and over again, before ever giving up on the

that whole class of products.

And we all know what they're getting in that stuff!!

Ask an Aromatherapist, and then if you must, look at IFRA, and always always be

on the look-out for good scienctific enquiry, vested interests, and other

motivations.
