Guest guest
Hello Everyone! Well, tonight I have a question I thought I would never ask. I even had to look up the word to spell it right. LOL A little about me first. I have CMT-1A, I'm in a wheelchair, I do walk a little with crutches (just long enough to crash and burn) and then I'm full time in the wheelchair again. I have breathing problems, and fatigued most of the time. I'm in pain, and my feet are so swollen I have to stay in bed a great deal of time. I have never been into prescription, or recreational drugs. I don't care for alcohol, but unfortunately for years I drank pop, ate at Mc 's, and went through a very stressful time. A few weeks ago, with great hesitation, I tried marijuana brownies. Within 24 hours, my swelling was gone, my neck and body pain was gone, I felt hungry again (which I needed to jump start my metabolism) but most important...I could breathe better! My naturopath, and I could hardly believe it. This has really opened my eyes. I have this saying, " What you think is good, could be bad, or visa versa...or better yet... it just is, what it is " . I have an appointment this week with a doctor, and would like to know more about marijuana and CMT. if you feel led to email me at omega@... or through this forum...I would appreciate it. Have a great evening! Kay
Guest guest
Kay, Glad you discovered marijuana brownies and I hope you live in a state where it is legal! I am sorry to hear you are in a wheelchair. I have CMT1A also, diagnosed in 1995 by DNA testing. I am hoping to stay on my feet for the rest of my life! I wear short AFOs and high top athletic shoes or lace up boots. They enable me to walk quite well. Cannabis products are are wonderful for so many physical and mental ills. Fortunately I live in California where my physician prescribes medical Marijuana and personal quantities are legal. Growing my own crop has been a very therapeutic hobby and I reap the benefits of organically grown products that really make a difference in my health and well being. I do not take any other medication except high potency multi-vitamins, plus 2000 mg C, minerals, omegas, etc. I have found walking on a treadmill to be very beneficial. You can start very slow and hold on! I am so proud to now be walking a 20 minute mile at 5.0 incline. It beats lying in my recliner afraid to walk outside for fear of falling. If you have breathing problems you may not be able to smoke marijuana, however many people are smoking a very refined and purified version. For me it actually helps my deep breathing and swimming performance. The positive effect this product has had on me and others with chronic health problems is astonishing. I encourage you to seek out additional information. Robin
