Guest guest
Hello Everybody! My name is . I am 42 years old and live near Germany's capital Berlin. I always walked " funny " due to an operation that I had as a small child. And I was stumbling and falling every now and then. But I loved to walk often and for long distances. However, it was at the last day of a weekend citytour to Hungary's capital Budapest in the summer of 2003 that I suddenly experienced a rapid loss of strenght in my legs. In the days to follow I realized a numbness in my feet and up to my knees but could not tell when it had started. A neurologist diagnosed CMT three weeks later and six month after that I lost sensitivity in the better part of both hands. I tried in vain to find a German CMT-group. But thanks to the internet I found and I've been lurking here for a while now. There is a calm, warm and supportive athmosphere in this group. And I like the way advice is given and taken here. Thus, let me add a question: Winter is on its way and I am nursing the idea to get a vaccination against influenza. How are your experiences with vaccination and CMT? (I already searched the group's archive and polls without success.)
