Guest guest
Yup, its very unpleasant. The first time, I was totally not expecting it to hurt so much. I actually have complete neurological blocks -- 0's -- and my hands are fully functional, if that helps at all. Hope your son is OK. Sounds like Gretchen's experience has stuck with her!! Guest guest
OK...I have to be the dummy and ask. But what is a NCV test and what does it determine? Sounds like it sucks! Jyll

Guest guest
In October someone posted about NCV results and what the number meant. I have finally found mine and in the following areas the report says " absent " : SNCV (Sensory Nerve Conduction Velocity) MNCV (Motor Nerve Conduction Velocity) Right sural, right post tibial, right superficial peroneal, left sural, right ulnar, right median (wrist), right superior radial And in the following areas I showed reduced amplitude and slowed conduction: Right post tibial knee MNCV 24.2 m/s (there are lots of numbers here) Left post tibial knee MNCV 23.3 m/s Left peroneal knee MNCV 14.3 m/s I do not know what this means, but the important aspect is the diagnosis of sensory motor demyelinating neuropathy or CMT1A (likely recommend genetic verification). That said, none of this stops me from being active, I have walked a marathon, I have signed up for a half triathlon this year. So I do think it is a case of how your genes all interact with each other to see how CMT manifests itself. Donna from London
