Guest guest
What you need is a Dr. who has kept up with proper management of the most common disease seen by all physicians: high blood pressure. Every HTN guideline written talks about Conn's. It is clear that you were mismanaged from at least the first low K.Please send all those Drs my article so they do not screw up all the other PAs they are taking care of.CE Grim MDHaven't posted till now but I thought I would share my story with the group. For at least fifteen years I have been having blood pressure meds thrown at me one after another. Nothing helped. I was accused of not taking the meds and eating bad foods. I was also told that it was all nerves and I should take Xanax. In 2002 I had an episode of afib after the potassium levels dropped very low. Instead of looking for the reason for the drop my doctor wanted to put me on blood thinners. I refused. In August 2009 my pressure spiked to 240/130 and my lungs filled up with fluid and I spent 4 days in the hospital. All they did was increase my blood pressure meds. The same thing happened the following October. More meds. Finally I switched internests and he told me point blank that he does not know where to go with me anymore and sent me to a kidney doc. After one visit he tells me that I might have primary aldo and starts me on a low dosage of Inspra. It has been 2 months now and the nightmare is over. Normal pressure, no more tingling, no more water retention and, best of all, no more hospitals. Moral of this story is to find a good doctor that knows more than how to write scrips for more meds
