I was tested a year ago at the U of M Hospital and diagnosed with bi-lateral

hyperaldosteronism. Presently takin 4 blood pressure pills, including Inspra and

the blood pressure is not stabilized. Varies between normal and something in the

range of 160/110. Met with my Endocronologist at the U of M yesterday and he

thought that we might consider removing one of the adrenal glands that was

producing twice the aldosterone as the other gland, due to the growth on that

gland. He indicated that this could alleviate some of the problems, but most

likely I would still need to be medicated. Question though....that I forgot to

ask.....with today's technology, why don't they just go in and remove the growth

rather than the entire gland? Is this possible? Has anyone been in a similar

situation and had one of their glands removed even though the other gland was

also producing a smaller amount of aldosterone? Thanks.
