My father who doesn't have CMT had cellulitus too...in his case it recurred a number of times over the last several years. He has had both knees replaced (old sports injuries) and the teflon of the fake joint can foster the bacteria. He went on powerful antibiotics each time to clear it up, (called Cipro).... The discolouration and swelling he had were pronounced in both legs. The repeated inflammation with the multiple infections damaged his blood vessels to an extent, but he has had no recurrence since he started to wear compression stockings daily.
